Zig Zag Warp Guide: Stay in the Middle and Fly Far

Zig Zag Warp Is Won in the Middle of the Gap

Zig Zag Warp is a game about staying in the middle. A white and cyan triangular arrow flies in a dark starry field. A pink neon wall sits at the top. Another pink neon wall sits at the bottom. The arrow must stay between them. Hold to rise. Release to fall. That is the whole game.

In the play check done for this guide Levels 1 to 5 were reached. Four Game Over panels were seen. Distances grew from 2147 to 9408. No win panel was seen. No enemy other than the neon walls was seen. This guide tells you what was actually played and what was not played.

Quick Answer

Open the Zig Zag Warp page. Click and hold or touch to fly diagonally up. Release to glide diagonally down. Start with 4 Lives. Avoid the neon walls. Use short holds and short releases to keep the arrow in the middle of the gap. Use CONTINUE FROM LEVEL after a Game Over to start at the level you reached. Distance is the only number on the Game Over panel.

Start With the How to Play Panel

The game shows a loading screen with a circular ZIG ZAG logo and the text LOADING WARP DRIVE. The start screen then shows ZIG ZAG WARP with PLAY NOW and HOW TO PLAY buttons. Click HOW TO PLAY first.

The panel says you are the 3D Arrow navigating through the dimensional warp. Click and hold or touch to fly diagonally up. Release to glide diagonally down. You start with 4 Lives. Avoid the neon walls at all costs. Speed increases constantly, so stay sharp. Click UNDERSTOOD to close the panel. Then click PLAY NOW in the game to start Level 1.

At the start of a run the screen shows LEVEL 1 at the top center, a home icon at the top left, four red hearts at the top right, and Hold To Fly Up at the bottom center. The player is a white and cyan triangular arrow in the left center of the field. A dotted trail follows behind it.

Hold and Release Is the Only Control

Hold to rise

Press and hold the mouse in the game area to fly diagonally up. The arrow stays in the left center of the screen while the distance number increases. A long hold moves the arrow toward the top neon wall. Do not hold for a long time at the start of a run.

Release to fall

Release the mouse to glide diagonally down. The arrow falls toward the bottom neon wall while you release. A long release moves the arrow too far down. Short holds and short releases keep the arrow in the middle of the gap.

Why short holds work better

In the play check done for this guide a continuous hold of about 60 seconds ended the run. Short alternating holds of about 300 ms each kept the arrow flying in a controlled way. Longer alternating holds of about 800 ms each were also tried. The short pattern was easier to control in the runs played here. Mouse click and hold and release were the only controls used in that check. No keyboard control was shown in the game or used. Touch input was not tested in that check.

Levels 1 to 5 What Actually Happened

Levels 1 to 5 were reached in the play check done for this guide. Each run after the first began at the level reached in the previous run. That was done with the CONTINUE FROM LEVEL button on the Game Over panel. Each new run started again with four hearts and Hold To Fly Up at the bottom.

Distance was the only number on the Game Over panel. Four Game Over panels were seen. After Level 1 the panel showed LEVEL 2 and Distance 2147. After Level 2 it showed LEVEL 3 and Distance 4432. After Level 3 it showed LEVEL 4 and Distance 6852. After Level 4 it showed LEVEL 5 and Distance 9408. No separate score, coins or timer was shown.

No level up banner was seen. No distance threshold for a new level was stated in the game. Only the LEVEL number changing was observed. No win panel was seen in Levels 1 to 5. No final level or completion screen was seen. Levels above Level 5 were not reached in that check.

The Walls Are the Only Enemy You Will See

The only obstacles seen in Levels 1 to 5 were the top and bottom pink and magenta horizontal neon walls. Small white stars and dots sit in the dark background. They are decoration. They are not obstacles.

No other enemy, item, coin or power up was seen in Levels 1 to 5. No per hit life loss was captured in a still image in that check. Only four hearts at the start of each run and the Game Over panels were seen. The exact life loss rule for one wall hit is not claimed here from a still image. Avoid the walls. That is the rule the How to Play panel gives.

Speed increase was not measured in the play check done for this guide. It is stated only in the How to Play text. It is not claimed here as a measured change.

Five Habits for a Longer Run

Keep the arrow in the middle

Think of the gap as a narrow road. The middle is the safe place. A run that stays in the middle lasts longer than a run that rides close to a wall.

Release early near the top wall

Release the mouse early when the arrow moves close to the top wall. A late release leaves no room to turn the arrow down.

Hold again early near the bottom wall

Hold the mouse again early when the arrow moves close to the bottom wall. A late hold leaves no room to lift the arrow up.

Use short taps not one long hold

Use short holds and short releases. A long hold pushes the arrow into the top wall. A long release drops the arrow into the bottom wall. Short taps keep the arrow in the middle.

Continue from the level you reached

After a Game Over, use CONTINUE FROM LEVEL to start at the level you reached. Use MAIN MENU when you want to stop and return to the start screen. That choice was tested in the play check done for this guide.

Mistakes That End a Run Fast

  • Holding the mouse down for a long time at the start of a run.
  • Releasing for a long time and dropping into the bottom wall.
  • Riding close to the top wall instead of staying in the middle.
  • Riding close to the bottom wall instead of staying in the middle.
  • Skipping the How to Play panel and guessing the controls.
  • Expecting a coin or a power up that was not seen in Levels 1 to 5.

The in game home icon and the Fullscreen button below the game frame were not used in the play check done for this guide. No pause button was used. No in game settings menu was seen or opened.

What This Guide Does Not Claim

No win condition was reached in Levels 1 to 5. No final level was seen. No enemies other than the neon walls were seen. No items, coins, power ups, character selection, worlds, modes or difficulty settings were seen or opened. No keyboard keys, touch input or pause button were used or tested. Levels above Level 5 were not reached. No game version, file size, rating or download count was shown on the page.

Those limits are part of this guide. A full guide for Zig Zag Warp cannot be written from Levels 1 to 5 alone. This guide gives you the real controls, the real levels reached, the real distances, and the real Game Over flow. The rest is left out until it is actually played.

Zig Zag Warp Next to Other CrazyCubix Games

Zig Zag Warp is a flying game. Fuji Leaper is a jump and bounce game. In Fuji Leaper you jump a frog once and must bounce off flies to continue. In Zig Zag Warp you do not jump a frog. You hold and release to fly an arrow between neon walls.

Zig Zag Warp is also different from Jungle Master. In Jungle Master you swing on a vine and time one jump to the next vine. In Zig Zag Warp there is no vine and no single jump. You keep the arrow flying with short holds and releases.
